Before you call, it is fair to know exactly what is being promised. Four things, each one about this service rather than about anybody else’s work.
No voicemail, no office hours
Call at three in the morning on a holiday and the line is answered. That is the point of a 24-hour number rather than an answering machine that promises Monday.
The connection costs you nothing
Using this service costs you nothing. No charge to call, none to be connected, and none for whatever quotes you collect. Only the work you hire is paid for, and you pay the contractor directly.
Local, and cleared for the work
The connection goes to an insured independent contractor working in the Honolulu area rather than to a call centre two states away. The contractor on site is the firm that must hold the permissions the job calls for, so confirm them yourself before anyone starts.
Not the right contractor? Call again
You are not stuck with the first name you are given. Call back, say it was not a fit, and ask for another. That is what the line is for.
The part this service cannot promise
These are commitments about a connection, not about construction. The contractor is an independent business and the job is their contract with you — so get the scope, the price and any workmanship guarantee from them, in writing, before work starts.
